The Mac AKA Macintosh is a series of several lines of personal computers created by Apple Inc. The first Mac was around in 1984, it had the special feature of a mouse. This new breed of PC integrated a graphic user interface (GUI). Similar systems used a complicated command line interface – which was too difficult to use by non IT professionals.

In the early part of 1990 IBM compatible machines started to run Microsoft Windows – the biggest competitor to MAC. MAC had lost their podium place in the personal computer industry. But, in the late 2000s they are making a come back!
